My study of the Alexander Technique began in 2009 with the master teacher Cathy Pollock. Having studied many methods of addressing healthy and efficient use of the body, I can freely say that study of the Alexander Technique is indispensable for musicians and performers. I believe in the practical daily usefulness of this approach, especially as it relates to Cathy's organic and intuitive style. I am a continuous student of Alexander and utilize the ideas and techniques of this method to assist my students in tuning in with their own bodies so that they can allow a better, more efficient use of themselves and their instrument.
The fundamental basis of my teaching emphasizes freeing the body and voice (helping students get out of their own way), as such, these concepts and practices form one of the foundational pillars of my teaching style. I have compiled some information for my students about this technique and hope you enjoy learning more about this marvelous approach to a more natural, healthy and efficient use of the body.
